As the most widely recognized and fastest-growing software testing certification organization in the world ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) now has more than 800 000 certified testers in over 100 countries. SSTB is one of ISTQB's member boards. Besides in English, SSTB also offers a Swedish standard and Swedish testing certification according to the international standard.
ISTQB training combined with certification
Combine your ISTQB exam with attending an ISTQB/SSTB accredited training course first
Accredited training providers offer courses to help you prepare for ISTQB certification.
If you register for the course and exam at the same time and pay for both in one go:
- the price of the exam will be lower than if you register separately
- for classroom courses, you will be automatically booked for classroom exams in connection with the
course
- for online courses, you will receive a voucher to use for any online exam
- you will have the opportunity to retake the exam, see below
Free re-take of the exam if you did not pass your exam after the course
Since SSTB has done the accreditation of the training providers, we have confidence that they are conducting the course professionally and with the right content; there are thus conditions for you to pass the subsequent exam.
Should you, after all, fail the exam, we have an offer. SSTB offers a free online re-examination.
Conditions for this:
- Registration for new exam is done within 3 months after your failed exam
- Applies to courses in classroom and online
- Course and exam booked at the same time
- The training provider is ISTQB-accredited through SSTB for the course on which the exam is based
- You have participated in the entire course
- The exam after the course was conducted by SSTB
- The re-examination applies to SSTB online and must be taken within six months of the course
- The offer is valid for one re-exam only
Registration for the re-exam is done here. If your registration is ok, you will receive a voucher code by email to use as payment when you register for your re-exam.

Why choose training provider and a course that is accredited by ISTQB?
An ISTQB accredited training provider is someone who has extensive knowledge and experience in testing and can provide additional insight into test terminology and syllabus content to facilitate the achievement of ISTQB certification.
A course from an ISTQB-accredited training provider guarantees that the content covers all sections and parts according to the Syllabus and is therefore a good basis for your ISTQB examinations. The teacher is also certified, has knowledge of the current course and also has pedagogical skills.

2017
Following the successful release of Worldwide Software Testing Practices Report in 2015, a new survey was designed for its second edition considering the changing needs of software testing industry. The survey was designed by the ISTQB® Marketing Working Group and endorsed by ISTQB® Member boards, accredited training providers and exam providers in all over the world.

As a non-profit organization, with its mission of “advancing the software testing profession”, ISTQB® regularly conducts international online surveys to assess trends in the testing industry. In the 2013 ”ISTQB® Effectiveness Survey”, we collected market feedback on the impact of ISTQB® certifications; in 2015 we conducted a survey focused on “Worldwide Software Testing Practices”. In this latest “ISTQB® Effectiveness Survey”, we ask for additional feedback from testing professionals and analyse how trends and demands are changing.

After every completed ISTQB course there is a possibility for examination. Often this is done in direct connection to the course but can sometimes be different. If you didn’t attend the course you can attend the exam as well as long there is room for it. You can also attend an examination for an ISTQB module that was not the course. Se the calendar on SSTB’s website and contact the course administrator.
In addition to those exams SSTB also organize open exams once a month in Stockholm / Kista and Göteborg / Lindholmen. SSTB also organizes open exams in Malmö in cooperation with System Verification. See the calendar.
Applications for the open exams in Kista and Göteborg can be done here.
SSTB can today (2017-03) offer the following exams in english:
Foundation Level
· Foundation
· Agile Tester
· Model-Based
Advanced Level
· Test Manager
· Test Analyst
· Technical Test Analyst
· Test Automation Engineer
The fee for the open exams in Kista and Göteborg are 2300:- (2875:- incl moms) for Foundation Level and 2800:- (3500:- incl moms) for Advanced Level.
ISTQB® is pleased to announce that a new central register of successful candidates will be
available on the ISTQB® website from June 2017. The Successful Candidate Register will list
individuals who pass an ISTQB® certification examination (at all levels and across all modules) and
who have given their consent to be included.
SSTB has started to collect data in January 2017. It is done in conjunction with your registration at the exam. By ticking a box and signing you are giving your consent to your data being processed for the purposes of the ISTQB® SCR.
The SCR includes your data as follows:
• Name (First and Last Name)
• The certification module (e.g.: Foundation Core, Agile Tester, Test Manager, etc.)
• The level of certification (Foundation, Advanced, Expert)
• Part of the certificate number
• The certification date
• The country that the certification was gained in (Sweden in this case)
• The certification body (SSTB in this case)
If you are ISTQB® certified before 2017 you will not be automatically included in the register. SSTB will come back later how this will be done.

SSTB can now offer exam and certification on ISTQB Advanced Level Test Automation Engineer
The exam language is English and exam length is 90 min (113 min if your native language is not English)
There are 40 questions and they are Multiple Choise. As all exams on Advanced Level it is required that you are certified on ISTQB Foundation Level Core or similar to be able to take the exam.
